I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Brittany DeMauro, but I’m also known as BratKnee here on the internet. I’m the blogger behind BratKnee and the Creative Director at CustomPictureFrames.com. I’m a New Jersey-based girl with a love for all things creative. I’m a lover of writing, books, binge-watching TV and moves, DIYing and cats. When I’m not working on my next project, you can find me in front of my tv, endlessly scrolling social media or reading a book with my two cats.

I’m quite accident-prone. And I don’t mean in the I’m always injured way. But now that I think about it, I’m that type of accident-prone too. Instead, I mean my life has been a series of accidents. I accidentally enrolled in the wrong major with accidentally lead me down an unexpected career path. I thought I was going to be an author, churning out YA bestsellers but fate had another plan for me (so far.) Here I am, almost a decade since graduating from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a BA in Communication Arts living and breathing content creation and marketing. I’ve been able to apply my MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University to craft narratives all over the internet as a copywriter, social media manager and content creator since 2012. And now I’m finally going to tell my own stories here on this lifestyle blog.
BratKnee started as my Twitter handle and YouTube channel name in a time when anonymity online was still a thing. It was a pseudonym for and caricature of my personality. And now it gets to be the place where I share my tips, tricks and insights for surviving in this modern world.
BratKnee is a creative lifestyle blog, created in 2021, with a focus on DIY, books, tv and movies, cats, mental health and everything else that takes up space in my mind rent-free. Since its beginning, BratKnee has strived to be inclusive and light-hearted, even when skirting more serious topics. Known for its humorous style, BratKnee has become an escape for many.
Meet the CMOs, Chief Meow Officers, Grigio and Bacio. Affectionately knowns as the boys, these long-haired mixes were rescued in 2017 and 2018 respectively. They provide me with all the cuddles and motivation I need sometimes to get through a project, whether it’s writing, DIY or work-related. You can also count on the fact that many a blog posts will be typed with one (or both) sprawled across the keyboard. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
